D. Ryan Perkins is an Emmy Award–winning producer with 20 years of experience bringing stories to life for network TV, public television, and digital platforms. He’s produced and directed documentaries and docuseries on a wide range of topics, with recent work focused as lead producer on public television projects in the educational and career-exploration space.
Ryan loves helping people tell their stories. He’s curious by nature and enjoys diving into new subjects, collaborating with creators, and making work that connects with real audiences. He combines storytelling skill with a collaborative approach to bring meaningful, audience-centered work to life.
As an Orange County native and Cal Lutheran alumnus, Ryan enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family. Whether he’s skiing in the Sierras, hiking, fishing, golfing, or at the beach, he always has a camera in hand to capture the moment.
